He stepped out of the car and looked around at the beach, it was quiet since it was night. He didn't like to come in the day, first of all the sun irritated him, it was too bright, and at night the waves were at large and the air was perfect. Everything seemed right. He grabbed his surfboard from the back of the volvo and walked up to the beach. It was just him tonight, one again. But he was waiting on Ryleigh, he couldn't wait really. She was his best friend, his only close friend really. Justin took out his lip ring and then got ready to surf. Running up to the water her slammed the board down his body on top and went out to the middle, there he made his way to the waves.
The first one was big, it towered over him like a sky scraper. It blocked out the moon, but this was the type of waves he lived for. He stood on his board and balanced them swayed along with it. Not losing foot, not getting uncomfortable, everything was perfect about this moment. Then the tunnel washed around him and that was what every surfer loves, the thrill of the wave was in the tube. He surfed out and jumped the wave did a 360, which he wouldn't have been able to do if he hadn't skateboard'ed for a living and then he stopped, the wave was over. Just as soon as it had began.
Then he saw Ryleigh and smiled, he called out to her as he began to go back to shore. "Ryleigh!" When he finally reached the shore, soak ' n wet he hugged Ryleigh tight and smiled. "Sup shortie!" He always made fun of her height, although he was about an inch or two taller. [:

LOST AND INSECURE, YOU FOUND ME, YOU FOUND ME . LYING ON THE floor, surrounded, surrounded . why'd
you have to wait? where were you, where were you? ryleigh lay in her bedroom -- wait, stop there. it wasn't technically her bedroom, it was the guest room in her brother's house. well, kaitlyn and tristan's house. it still didn't feel like her room, even with her drawings and posters and all that up and all. she liked it better than living with her father, of course, even if she acted like she was homesick. she did miss her bedroom, but that was just about it. she checked her phone, glad to see she had a text message. at first she hoped it was trevor, but she was let down. of course, justin was also a very close friend of her's -- but he wasn't trevor. she replied quickly, jumping off of her bed. he wanted her to meet him at the beach. she didn't know what tristan or kaitlyn would say, but it really wasn't their business because they weren't her parents. of course, they cared, and ryleigh was glad they did. she didn't bother with changing, she was just going to see justin. she wore an elvis costello vintage tee along with a pair of purple jeans. she grabbed her converse sneakers from where they lay at the foot of her bed. she grabbed a pair of socks from the top drawer of her dresser and pulled them on, followed by her shoes. she went in front of the mirror and sighed, not really caring that she looked like she just rolled out of bed. which she did, her bed, where she'd been sitting for the last few days. she'd been avoiding eating as much as she could because for some strange reason she thought she was fat. she knew it wasn't good for her but all the super skinny girls at school were getting to her.
she grabbed her phone and stuffed it in her back pocket. she pulled the chair from under the doorknob -- her makeshift lock -- and slid it across the wooden floor so it ended somewhere close to the desk it belonged to. she swung her door open and then closed it, turning down the hall and heading for the stairs. she took the stairs two at a time, landing with a thud at the base of the staircase. she smiled at kaitlyn and tristan -- tristan on the couch, kaitlyn getting something to eat in the kitchen. when tristan asked where she was going she simply replied the beach, and when he asked with who, she said justin. tristan made a face, because he obviously didn't like her hanging out with any boys, especially one he didn't know well at the beach at night. he told her to keep her phone near her and to answer if he called, and not to be home too late. she waved him off, because she would be home soon enough.
she grabbed her skateboard from where it sat outside the front door and threw it to the ground, stepping onto it and pushing off with her right foot, letting her left foot steer the skateboard as she made her way down the empty street. the darkness should scare a girl ryleigh's age, but it didn't. she was at the beach soon enough, a shiver running up her spine from the sudden rush of cold air. the ocean breeze. also mixed with the desert climate. california was partly in the desert, so at night, it could get pretty chilly. in the winter, probably around forty degrees. in the summer, only down to about fifty. she kicked her skateboard up and tucked it under her arm, then decided it could stay where it was. she dropped it in the sand close to the sidewalk. there was nobody really at the beach at this time, and who would want a crappy old skateboard anyways? she wrapped her arms around herself as she made her way closer to the water, the air growing colder the closer she grew. she could make out justin's shape on his board and smiled. she hadn't seen him in awhile, and she missed her friend. she waved slightly as he called her name.
he was soaking wet when he hugged her and she pushed him away. "juuustiin! come on! you're getting me wet!" she complained. she didn't know how he could stand being totally soaked in fifty something degree weather with no sun, she thought he was crazy. she laughed a little at her reaction. it was such a girl reaction, and ryleigh refused to believe she was a girly girl. of course, she was a girl, but she didn't like dresses or frilly stuff or the color pink. she skateboarded, she just didn't like the whole girly girl image. it wasn't her.

forget my name this time it's time - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Justin smiled at her, it was all he could do. His best friend as he called it was here, now this night was perfect. He had called her out to the beach to tell her about the skateboarding deal he had just gottten, but just her being here was good enough. "Let's go over to the rocks, better view. Haha." He laughed and walked over to them. The sand was mild, not as hot as it would be had it been day. He noticed a few people were on their boats out at sea he wondered what that would be like. But then again, he was terrified of boats.
Justin sat down on the rock, he grabbed his sweatshirt and pulled it on, slipping the hoddie over him. He looked at Ryleigh and smiled once again, showing his perfect white teeth. "So how've ya been Ryles? It's been about three months now right?" Justin hadn't seen her because he'd went out of town to go on a skate tour. Sponsers would be there and all, he had to go. When he left he knew something good would come out of it. And there was, he got sponsered, and he made a bunch of famous skating friends. He couldn't wait to tell her, seeing her reaction would be priceless.
When he looked at the water, thinking about his trip made him think about his family. What would his parent's say when they saw him rich, on television being hte best skater possible. Would they be pissed or regretful. He hoped them the best, but he knew when he left that they probably had a hard time letting go. Good, abandoning their son is a price you'll have to pay. only Ryleigh knew about his family, everyone else just thought he was a runaway or did something illegal and got kicked out. No one even considered that he was abandoned because he wanted to follow his dreams.
But oh well, Justin can pull through anything. It's only a matter of months before he becomes the famous Justin Jacobs. Only a short while before he's the one living up all his dreams.
